Who is Dr. Raman Kohli?

Dr. Raman Kohli is a Board Certified Specialist of Periodontics in both Canada and the U.S. He received his dental degree from the University of Toronto in 1990 and practiced dentistry for thirteen years in Oakville and Waterdown, Ontario. In 2003 he attended the renowned Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Masters in Oral Biology and Periodontology. During his studies, Boston University awarded Dr. Kohli the recognition of the top graduating resident in Periodontology and chose him to compete for the top graduating resident in the USA.

As an alumni of Boston University, he periodically visits the school to lecture periodontal residents. He has also been a guest lecturer for the specialty programs at the Universities of British Columbia, Manitoba and Toronto for the purpose of delivering his own suturing program. Dr. Kohli has lectured widely to dental professionals on a variety of topics, which include implant therapy, soft and hard tissue growth, aesthetic crown lengthening and suturing. He authored a chapter on scaling and root planing in the textbook Practical Periodontal Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. Presently, he is retained as a consultant by the world’s leading suture company, Ethicon, to assess appropriate suture material/needle combinations best suited in different surgical situations and to evaluate the appropriateness of new sutures for periodontal surgical applications.

As a periodontist, Dr. Raman Kohli is trained in the placement of dental implants and the treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the gums and supporting structures surrounding teeth.
